Friendly efficient staff and well-maintained hotel.
Unbeatable and excellent location so close to the tourist information office as well as then the Tram, and private parking. Delicious breakfast with a wide range of food options.

Fashionable and new-fashioned unit with a shower, supper friendly staff. Impeccable service, parking nearby. The smooth check-in. Great and lovely location in the center of everything, close to Marktplatz. Right by the Old Town, public transport, and shops, restaurants and the trams.

I stayed in the hotel just for one night. The location is quite convenient in the old city centre, not only for shopping, but also to reach congress venues. it is closely located to the tram stop at Marktplatz, within easy reach of Basel SBB train station. The staff is very polite and extremely helpful. The rooms are of normal size, very clean and tastfully furnished.

Well-appointed and top-notch rooms. Lots of facilities like a coffee maker, reliable internet, and an iron with ironing board. - Super central location, a 10-15 minute walk from the Natural History Museum of Basel.

Wonderful location- right in the City Center. Easy walk to trams, or to numerous shops, resturants, and riverfront.
The bed was quite hard, and the pillows offered little support- they were just nothing but air. The linens were not what was expected for this nice of a hotel.

The staff at reception were extremely helpful. Unfortunately, we did not have much time to tour. One member of staff urged us to take a specific touristic stroll along the river. We did that and were very happy with his recommendation. Our room was quiet and neat and clean. It definitely met our requirements. Valet parking was very efficient. The Brasserie attached to the hotel served very good food at reasonable (for Switzerland) prices. We wanted to stay in the old city and Hotel Basel is beautifully located for that purpose.
Our car's GPS system stopped short of Munzgasse. We had a bit of trouble in locating the hotel; but with the help of a very kind local shopkeeper, we found our way. Steps should be taken to ensure that the bathtub/shower is easy to use for older travelers. A non-slip tub and a handle to hold on to are important. The breakfast room, located in a basement, is not particularly appealing.
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
